Enhancing the customer experience by embracing innovation and interactivity in your packaging are sure fire ways to stand out from the crowd during 2024.

In this blog, we explore the predicted packaging and design trends for 2024 and provide insights into how brands can captivate their customers and elevate the presentation to new heights.

Pantone Colour of the Year

Every year, Pantone, the people who know everything there is to know about colour, release their colour of the year and influence the direction of design by doing so. The choice for 2024 is Peach Fuzz, technically known as Pantone 13-1023, and is said to be “velvety,” “gentle” and “subtly sensual,” according to the design and colour authority. So how can you incorporate this year’s colour of choice into your restaurant/food business scheme? Adding the colour to your packaging by way of design elements is a guaranteed way to modernize your look.

Sustainability as a Driving Force

Much like previous years, sustainability continues to be a key driver in the packaging industry.  Consumers are ever more environmentally conscious, and businesses are reacting by reducing packaging waste and minimizing their carbon footprint. In 2024, we can expect to see an increased demand for compostable and recyclable materials with plastic packaging becoming less and less appealing to both consumers and businesses.

One might assume that recyclable and compostable products would exclusively lean towards neutral colours and a very earthy look, but that doesn't always have to be the case, with It’s a Wrap custom printing, your eco-friendly greaseproof paper can be as bold and creative as you choose.

Sustainable inks and coatings that reduce environmental impact are also expected to become more prevalent -something we’ve been expecting for some time and that’s why we already ensure that all our materials meet today’s environmental demands.

Augmented Reality

Ever popular AR is a powerful addition to your packaging. Consumer attention spans are shorter than ever, making it critical to capture their interest quickly. Interactive packaging with the addition of augmented reality (AR) using QR codes, enables customers to virtually experience your brand and encourages them to make informed choices.

In 2024, it’s predicted that the QR code trend will gain momentum and begin to revolutionise the way customers engage with luxury products. This not only enhances user engagement but also elevates brand perception. With these interactive elements, packaging becomes a powerful tool for storytelling and brand differentiation.
